Police arrest suspect in Central Long Beach killing
Juan Antonio Cruz, 45, allegedly shot his girlfriend Suzette Aparijo, 48, to death early Tuesday morning, authorities said.
Police arrested a 45-year-old Long Beach man for allegedly fatally shooting his girlfriend in Central Long Beach early Tuesday morning.
Long Beach police allege that Juan Antonio Cruz shot his girlfriend Suzette Aparijo, 48, of Hawaiian Gardens in the 1400 block of Redondo Avenue around 3 a.m. Tuesday morning.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel determined Aparijo died at the scene, according to authorities.
After homicide detectives identified Cruz as a suspect, officers arrested him and booked him at the Long Beach Central Jail, police said.
His bail was set at $2 million, according to the LBPD.
Detectives will present the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's office for filing consideration, police said.
The motive and circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation, police added.
