A 40-year-old Carson man has been arrested on suspicion of fatally shooting two unhoused men back in August, police said Tuesday night. Two other men and one teen boy were also arrested as accomplices, police added.

Long Beach police say Jesus Arredondo, 40, fatally shot Luis Parra, 45, and Josue Pacheco, 24, on Aug. 6.

Police say they responded to the area of Compton Creek and the 710 freeway around 8:36 p.m. that day following reports of a dead body.

When officers arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds to their upper bodies, according to the LBPD.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel determined that both men had died at the scene, police said.

Through their investigation, homicide detectives identified Arredondo as the suspect in the murder, according to authorities. Detectives arrested him on Jan. 15 in the 2300 block of Bellevue Avenue in Los Angeles, police said.

Officers booked Arredondo into the Long Beach City Jail for murder, according to police. His bail is set at $1 million, police added.

Police also arrested three other individuals as accomplices.

The first, a 17-year-old teen boy of Carson who was not identified because of his age, was arrested on Jan. 9 in the 200 block of West Torrance Boulevard in Carson.

The LBPD booked him for aiding someone who committed a felony,β€―and his bail was set at $2 million, police said.

LBPD detectives arrested Stephen Lee Talbot, 42, of Los Angeles, on Jan. 15 in the 2100 block of South Patton Street in San Pedro, according to authorities. He was booked for aiding someone who committed a felony, with bail set for $2 million, police added.

The next day, LBPD detectives arrested Timothy Garcia,β€―35, of Harbor City in the 900 Block of Rosecrans Avenue in Compton, police said. He was booked for aiding someone who committed a felony and his bail was also set for $2 million, according to police.

The motive for the killings remains unknown, police said.

LBPD detectives will present the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration, police added.

The investigation into the killings is ongoing, and police are asking anyone with information to call Homicide Detectives Juan Carlos Reyes and Jesus Espinoza at 562-570-7244.
