Long Beach Police say they’re investigating a shooting Saturday morning that left a passenger in a stolen vehicle injured.

It’s not clear when the vehicle was stolen, but police said the victim was a passenger inside a car that someone shot at just before 8 a.m. in the area of Magnolia Avenue and Sixth Street.

The gunfire struck the victim in the lower body, according to the LBPD. The person driving the vehicle, along with the suspect, left the scene, police said.

Authorities responded to the area and took the victim to a local hospital for treatment, police said, adding that the wound was not considered life-threatening.

Detectives also responded to the scene to investigate, according to police, who said evidence, including bullet casings, were recovered at the scene.
