Off-duty cop shoots at robbery suspects in Bixby Knolls, police say
The officer was near Bixby Road and Orange Avenue when two suspects robbed him around 1:30 p.m. Sunday, authorities said.
An off-duty police officer fired multiple shots at two suspects who robbed him in Bixby Knolls Sunday afternoon, police said.
Long Beach police say the officer was near Bixby Road and Orange Avenue around 1:30 p.m. when one man pointed what is believed to be a firearm at him while another man robbed him.
The officer then "fired shots towards the suspects," the LBPD said in a statement.
The officer was not injured during the robbery, and it’s unknown if either suspect was injured, police said.
The investigation into the robbery and the shooting is ongoing, according to the LBPD.
