Motorcyclist dies more than a month after crash near Heartwell Park, police say
The crash happened just after 6 p.m. June 4, in the area of Carson Street and Ostrom Avenue, police said.
A motorcyclist who suffered serious injuries during a crash near Heartwell Park in June has died, police announced today.
Police say the motorcyclist was traveling in the westbound lanes of Carson Street just after 6 p.m. on June 4.
At some point, he changed lanes and collided with a car attempting to make a left turn onto Carson Street from Ostrom Avenue, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The motorcyclist was taken to a local hospital in critical condition and died last week, authorities said. He was identified by his the Los Angeles Medical Examinerβs office as 41-year-old Downey resident David Garcia.
Police ask anyone who may have witnessed the crash to contact detectives at 562-570-7355.
