Motorcyclist dies in crash on Redondo Avenue, police say
Roberto Barraza, 37, was hit by a suspected DUI driver Saturday night, according to authorities.

Police are investigating the death of a motorcyclist who was hit by a suspected DUI driver near Redondo Avenue and 11th Street Saturday night.
The motorcyclist was riding a 2010 KTM bike southbound on Redondo Avenue around 9 p.m. when he was hit by a man driving a 2006 Toyota Sequoia traveling eastbound on 11th Street as it crossed Redondo, according to Long Beach police.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel aided the motorcyclist but he died at the scene, according to authorities.
Police identified the motorcyclist as Roberto Barraza, 37, of Long Beach.
No other injuries were reported, according to the LBPD.
The driver of the Sequoia, identified as Frank Andrade, Jr., 33, of Long Beach, remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation, police said.
Andrade was then arrested and booked for driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter, according to police. Bail was set at $101,781, police added.
At this time, police say impaired driving is being investigated as a potential factor in the crash.

This is 35th traffic fatality reported by the LBPD this year. There were 40 traffic fatalities in the city in 2024, according to police statistics.
