Police say theyโ€™re investigating the death of a motorcyclist who crashed near Long Beach Airport early Wednesday morning.

The motorcyclist, according to the Long Beach Police Department, was traveling northbound on Clark Avenue near Conant Street around 12:28 a.m. Wednesday when he struck a 2016 Dodge Dart that was parked along the east curb.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel pronounced him dead at the scene, according to authorities.

No other injuries were reported, police said.

At this time, speed is being considered as a potential factor in the collision, according to the LBPD.

The man was not identified as the Los Angeles County Medical Examinerโ€™s office is still working to notify his relatives.

Police ask anyone with more information on the crash to call LBPD Collision Investigation Detail Detective Efrain Pineda at 562-570-7355.
