A man was shot in North Long Beach early Wednesday morning, but refused to cooperate with the investigating officers, police said.

Officers responded around 2:45 a.m. to a local hospital following reports that a man had walked in with a gunshot wound to his lower body, according to the Long Beach Police Department. The wound was not considered life-threatening, police added.

The man was apparently in the area of Long Beach Boulevard and Victoria Street when the shooting occurred, police said. But the man did not cooperate when asked by officers to provide additional details of the shooting, according to the LBPD.

Officers located a crime scene, but suspect information and the motive for the shooting remain under investigation, police said.
