Man stabbed near Sims Pond, police say

The stabbing happened in the 6200 block of Pacific Coast Highway around 10:07 p.m. Saturday, according to authorities.

Police are investigating a stabbing near Sims Pond that left a person hospitalized Saturday night.

Long Beach police say a man was stabbed in the 6200 block of Pacific Coast Highway around 10:07 p.m. The man and the male suspect who stabbed him were acquainted, police added.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel took the victim to a local hospital, where he was treated for multiple stab wounds to his upper body, according to authorities. The victim's wounds were not considered life-threatening, police said.

The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers, according to the LBPD.

The investigation into the stabbing is ongoing, police said.
