Long Beach police say they’re investigating a stabbing at Shoreline Village that left a man hospitalized Saturday evening.

Two men were arguing in the 400 block of Shoreline Village Drive around 7:30 p.m. when one man "swung an unknown object" toward the other man, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Authorities arrived at the scene and rendered aid to the victim before Long Beach Fire Department personnel took him to a local hospital for treatment, police said. The man suffered a wound to his upper body that was not considered life-threatening.

No arrest has been made as the suspect fled the scene before police arrived, according to authorities.

The investigation is ongoing, police said.
