Man stabbed during fight in St. Mary’s neighborhood, police say
The stabbing happened around 7:51 p.m. Tuesday, according to authorities.
Police say they’re investigating a stabbing in the St. Mary’s neighborhood that left a man hospitalized Tuesday evening.
The man was in the 1000 block of Long Beach Boulevard around 7:51 p.m. when he got into a fight with the suspect, described only as a male adult, according to the Long Beach Police Department. The suspect then stabbed the man multiple times in the upper body, police said.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel took the victim to a local hospital, where he was treated for non-life-threatening stab wounds, according to authorities.
The LBPD said officers collected evidence and their investigation is ongoing.
There have been 4,232 simple assaults in Long Beach this year, compared to 4,670 in 2024, and 1,925 aggravated assaults this year, compared to 1,940 last year, according to LBPD statistics.
