Man stabbed during attempted carjacking, police say
The man was in the 5300 block of Atlantic Avenue around 2:10 a.m. when the incident occurred, authorities said.
Police are investigating a stabbing during an attempted carjacking in North Long Beach that left a man wounded early Monday morning.
Long Beach police say the suspect, described as an adult man, was attempting to steal the victim's car in the 5300 block of Atlantic Avenue around 2:10 a.m. When the victim and the suspect got into a "brief verbal dispute," the suspect stabbed the victim and then fled the scene, police said.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel treated the victim at the scene for a single stab wound to his upper body, according to authorities. The victim's wound was not considered life-threatening, police added.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing, according to the LBPD.
