A man was hospitalized early Tuesday morning after being shot while sitting in a parked vehicle in North Long Beach, authorities said.

Police say the man was sitting in the parked car in 300 block of Market Street at around 1:53 a.m. when two unknown people approached the car and shot him.

The suspects fled the scene and the victim was taken by a private ambulance to a local hospital for treatment, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

He is in stable condition and his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening, the LBPD added.

Officers, meanwhile, are investigating a motive and searching for the suspects, police said.
