Man shot to death near Downtown, police say
The man was in the 700 block of Magnolia Avenue around 1 a.m. when he was shot, according to authorities.
Police are investigating a shooting near Downtown that left a man dead early Friday morning.
Long Beach police say the man was in the 700 block of Magnolia Avenue around 1 a.m. when he was shot.
Officers gave the man aid until relieved by Long Beach Fire Department personnel, who determined the man had died of his injuries, authorities said.
The man's identity is being withheld while the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner notifies his next of kin, according to police.
The suspect or suspects fled the scene prior to officers arriving, police said.
LBPD homicide detectives responded to the scene, and the motive and circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation, according to authorities.
Police are asking anyone with knowledge of the shooting to call Homicide Detectives Reyes and Temblador at 562-570-7244.
