Another man was stabbed in a separate incident Saturday night, police added.

A man was shot near Heartwell Park early Sunday morning, police said.

Though the man was "unable" to provide details of the shooting, he was apparently in the 4100 block of Viking Way around 2:33 a.m. when he was shot, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The shooting victim took himself to a local hospital, where he was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot would to his lower body, according to authorities.

While officers located a crime scene, suspect information and the motive for the shooting remain under investigation, police said.

Hours earlier, LBPD officers responded to the 1200 block of Del Rey Court in the Wilmore neighborhood following reports of a stabbing, according to LBPD. There, they found a man who had been stabbed in his upper body around 9 p.m. during an argument with another man, police said.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel took the victim to a local hospital, according to authorities. His wound was not considered life threatening, police said.

The suspect fled prior to officers' arrival, according to the LBPD, and the investigation is ongoing.
