Man shot in West Long Beach, police say
The shooting happened around 10:22 p.m. Friday, according to authorities.
Police say theyβre investigating a shooting in West Long Beach that left a man hospitalized Friday night.
The man was in the 2700 block of Baltic Avenue around 10:22 p.m. when he was shot, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel took him to a local hospital in stable condition, where he was treated for gunshot wounds to his lower body, according to authorities.
The LBPD said officers located a crime scene.
The motive for the shooting and suspect information remain under investigation, according to police.
There were 4,584 simple assaults in Long Beach in 2025, which was down nearly 9% from the previous year, and 2,086 aggravated assaults in 2025, which was about 1% lower than 2024, according to LBPD statistics.
