Long Beach police say a man and woman were arguing around 10:44 p.m. at the 5000 block of East Ocean Boulevard near Rosie's Dog Beach.
At some point, the argument escalated and the woman shot the man in the upper body, according to the LBPD.
The man took himself to a local hospital for treatment and the woman fled the scene, according to authorities.
