A man was shot in Long Beach's Rose Park neighborhood Sunday night but refused to cooperate with investigating officers, according to police.

Officers responded around 10:53 p.m. to the 900 block of Ohio Avenue following reports of a shooting, according to the Long Beach Police Department. 

Long Beach Fire Department personnel took the victim to a local hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound to the lower body, authorities said. His wound was not considered life-threatening, police added.

Police said that the vicim refused to cooperate with the investigation into the shooting.

The motive, circumstances of the shooting and suspect information are all under investigation, according to the LBPD.
