Police say the man was walking along Willow Street near the 710 Freeway early Sunday morning when another man punched and shot him.
A man was hospitalized early Sunday morning after being punched and shot by another man near West Long Beach, according to police.
Long Beach Police say the man was walking along Willow Street, near the 710 Freeway, when the suspect approached him.
The suspect then punched the man before shooting him in the lower body, police said.
The victim took himself to a local hospital for treatment, according to police, who said his injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.
Police did not say whether the two men knew each other or if this was a random attack.
The investigation is ongoing, according to the LBPD.
