Police said the man was in the 1900 block of Lemon Avenue Saturday night when suspects fired several shots at him from a vehicle.
Long Beach police are investigating a drive-by shooting near Martin Luther King Jr. Park that left a man injured Saturday night.
Authorities say the victim was in the 1900 block of Lemon Avenue just after 10 p.m. when multiple suspects in a car fired at him and then fled the scene.
The gunfire struck the man in the lower body and he took himself to a local hospital for treatment, according to police, who said his wound is not life threatening.
Officers who responded to the crime scene found evidence of a shooting, but the department did not elaborate on what was found.
It’s not yet clear why the suspects fired at the man or whether he was the intended target, according to police.
