Man hospitalized after shooting in Sunrise neighborhood, police say

The man was in the 2000 block of Orange Avenue around 11:53 p.m. Sunday when he was shot, according to authorities.

Police are investigating a shooting in the Sunrise neighborhood that left a man hospitalized Sunday night.

Long Beach police say the man was in the 2000 block of Orange Avenue at 11:53 p.m. when he was shot.

LBPD officers gave him aid until Long Beach Fire Department personnel arrived and took him to a local hospital, where he was treated for a gunshot wound, according to authorities.

The wound was not considered life-threatening, police said.

The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of officers, according to the LBPD.

The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, police said.
