Man found fatally shot inside parked car near Zaferia neighborhood, Long Beach police say

Detectives are investigating the fatal shooting of a man who was found inside a parked car near Long Beach's Zaferia neighborhood Wednesday morning, police said.
It's unclear who shot the man or why, but police say authorities found man was found inside the parked vehicle in the 2200 block of Spaulding Avenue shortly after 7:30 a.m., according to the Long Beach Police Department.
He had had been shot at least once in the upper body, police said.
At the scene, Long Beach Fire personnel tried to save his life, but he died, police said. His identity was not immediately released as the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner's Office works to notify his relatives.
The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation, according to authorities.
