Man fatally shot in North Long Beach, police say

Few details were immediately available but police say the man was shot by one or more suspects around 1:30 p.m. in the 5900 block of Lime Avenue.

Detectives are investigating a shooting near the Michelle Obama Library in North Long Beach that left a man dead Tuesday afternoon.

Few details were immediately available but Long Beach Police say the man was shot by one or more suspects around 1:30 p.m. in the 5900 block of Lime Avenue. The man died at the scene, according to the LBPD.

The suspect or suspects, meanwhile, fled the scene, police said.

Police closed down a small area at the intersection of 59th Street and Lime Avenue as officers canvassed the area. Officers appeared to focus their investigation on a home at the corner of the intersection.
