Man dies after being hit by his own truck at Long Beach port
The man was standing next to his truck on Pier T when it was rear-ended by another semi-truck and ran him over, according to police.

A man has died after being run over by his own semi-truck at the Port of Long Beach, authorities said.
Long Beach police said the man had stopped his truck along the south curb line of Pier T Avenue Wednesday morning at about 6:40 a.m. He had exited the cab and was standing next to the engine compartment when the truck was rear-ended by another semi-truck, police said.
The impact knocked the man to the ground and was then run over by his own truck, according to the LBPD.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel gave aid to the man, but he died at the scene from his injuries, according to authorities.
The man's identity was withheld while the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner alerts his next of kin, police said.
The other driver remained on scene and cooperated with the investigation.
At this time, police said they don't believe speed, distracted driving or impaired driving were factors in the collision.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision to call LBPD Collision Investigation Detail Detective Ashley Van Holland at 562-570-7355.
