Man arrested in connection with a shooting death last month, police say

Police arrested a 24-year-old Long Beach man in connection to the shooting of two men, one fatally, in the Willmore neighborhood on July 10.
Long Beach police said Brian Medina shot two men in the 300 block of West Anaheim around 7:13 a.m. on July 10. One of the men, 44-year-old William Davis of Long Beach, suffered "life-threatening injuries" while the other victim, described as a man in his 50s, sustained less serious wounds, according to police.
Long Beach Fire Department personnel took both men to a local hospital, authorities said.
The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived, police said.
On July 10, LBPD detectives identified Medina as the suspect and arrested him about two miles from the scene in the 2300 block of Linden Avenue, police added.
Medina was booked on two counts of attempted murder, according to the LBPD. Detectives presented the case to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office, filing two counts of attempted murder, police added.
On July 30, LBPD detectives learned Davis had died of his injuries at the hospital, according to police.
The LBPD alerted the DA's office about Davis's death, and a murder charge against Medina is now pending, police said.
Medina's bail is currently set at $3.025 million, according to authorities.
The circumstances and motive for the shooting remain under investigation, police said.
