Man arrested for stabbing roommates, killing one, police say
Police booked Alejandro Iniestra, 34, for murder and attempted murder.

A 34-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of stabbing two men, one fatally, in Long Beach's Zaferia neighborhood Saturday morning, according to authorities.
Long Beach police said Alejandro Iniestra stabbed both of his roommates, killing one.
Officers were called to the 1300 block of Temple Avenue around 10:38 a.m. to assist Long Beach Fire Department personnel, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
When the officers arrived they found two men with stab wounds to the upper body, police said. LBFD personnel determined that one of the victims died at the scene, then took the second victim to a local hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, according to authorities.
The decedent’s identity is being withheld while the Los Angeles County Department of the Medical Examiner works to notify the next of kin.
Officers safely arrested Iniestra, who remained at the scene, police said.
Police said they booked Iniestra for murder and attempted murder. His bail was set at $2 million, according to authorities.
The motive for the stabbings is still under investigation, according to the LBPD.
LBPD Detectives will present the case to the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office for filing consideration, police said.
Police are asking anyone with information about the stabbings to call Homicide Detectives Juan Carlos Reyes and Jesus Espinoza at 562-570-7244.
