Man accidentally shoots himself near Alamitos Beach, police say
A man was hospitalized after he accidentally shot himself along Ocean Boulevard and Sixth Place Monday morning, according to police.
Police say they are investigating after a man accidentally shot himself Monday morning near Alamitos Beach.
The man was in the area of Ocean Boulevard and Sixth Place around 11:42 a.m. when he “unintentionally fired the weapon,” striking himself in the lower body, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
The man then took himself to a local hospital for treatment, they added. The man’s wounds are not considered life-threatening, according to the LBPD.
It’s unclear whether the man accidentally pressed the trigger or if the gun somehow malfunctioned.
