Long Beach police search for hit-and-run suspect in crash that left another person injured

The driver of a dark Toyota pickup truck initially stopped after a crash with a Hyundai automobile near Del Amo Boulevard and Brayton Avenue on the morning of March 26, but then drove off, Long Beach police say.

Police are asking for the public's help in finding a driver involved in a hit-and-run traffic collision in Bixby Knolls on March 26 that left another person injured.

The crash happened around 9 a.m. on near Del Amo Boulevard and Brayton Avenue on Wednesday, March 26, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

The driver of a dark-colored Toyota pickup truck was traveling westbound on Del Amo Boulevard when it hit a silver Hyundai passenger vehicle, police said.

After the crash, the driver of the truck got out, examined the damage and then returned to his vehicle and drove northbound on Brayton Avenue, according to police.

The driver of the Hyundai suffered moderate, non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to a local hospital, police said.

Police describe the suspect as a heavy set white or Hispanic man with brown hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, multi-colored pajama pants and light-colored "Croc" style shoes, according to the LBPD.
