Police are asking for help tracking down a driver who didn't stop after crashing into another car last week, leaving a woman with serious injuries.

The crash happened just before 5 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 26 at the intersection of California Avenue and San Antonio Drive, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

There, the driver of a tan Toyota Avalon ran a red light and crashed into another car, the LBPD said.

The driver of the Toyota Avalon briefly got out of his car and then fled, they added.

The driver of the other car, a woman, declined treatment at the scene, authorities said. But she was later taken to a hospital with serious injuries, according to the department.

Police ask anyone who can identify the driver of the Toyota Avalon to contact detectives at 562-570-7355.
