Long Beach police arrest man suspected of raping woman
The suspect was identified by Long Beach police as 26-year-old Dion Terrell Walton Jr.
Detectives have arrested a man suspected of raping a woman earlier this week near Downtown Long Beach, police said.
The suspect was identified by Long Beach police as Dion Terrell Walton Jr., 26.
Walton is accused of raping a woman near the area of West 10th Street and Pacific Avenue on Wednesday, Jan. 15, police said. He's also believed to have physically assaulted another woman later that day in the 1200 block of Long Beach Boulevard, they added.
Police say they secured a warrant for Waltonβs arrest and located him Saturday afternoon in Wilmington.
He was taken into custody on suspicion of sodomy, first-degree robbery, kidnapping with the intent to commit rape and assault with the intent to commit a felony, police said.
His bail was set at $1 million, according to authorities.
