Long Beach police arrest man suspected in deadly shooting
The suspect was identified by Long Beach police as 18-year-old John Paul Mcintyre III.

Detectives have arrested a man suspected of killing another man in mid-February near Downtown Long Beach, police said.
The suspect was identified by police as John Paul Mcintyre III of Long Beach.
Mcintyre is accused of fatally shooting 32-year-old Long Beach resident Edgar Ortiz-Escamilla in the 1700 block of Long Beach Boulevard on Sunday, Feb. 16, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
Police say detectives, with the assistance of the LBPD's SWAT team, arrested Mcintyre Friday at a residence in Los Angeles.
Mcintyre was then transported to the Long Beach City Jail, where he was booked for murder, according to the LBPD.
His bail was set at $3 million, according to authorities.
At the time of the shooting, detectives suspected the motive may have been gang-related, but the motive and circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation, police said Saturday.
A gang-related crime is one committed for the benefit of, at the direction of or in association with any criminal street gang, according to the LBPD.
Anyone with information regarding the shooting is urged to contact LBPD Homicide Detectives Eric Thai and Chasen Contreras at 562-570-7244.
