The 2025 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach starts Friday, but city officials began closing roads on Wednesday (that's Today!).

The 2025 Acura Grand Prix of Long Beach kicks off its 50th race weekend Friday, but road closures to prepare for the event started Wednesday morning.

Here's a guide on what roads close when, and how you can adjust:

WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9

  • 4 a.m. – Closure of the side streets off Shoreline Drive and Seaside Way leading into the racecourse.
  • 7 a.m. – Closure of westbound Shoreline Drive, the northbound Queensway Bridge off‐ramp, the southbound Queensway Bridge on‐ramp from Shoreline Drive, and Aquarium Way, south of Shoreline Drive.
  • 3 p.m. – Closure of eastbound Shoreline Drive from Broadway to Ocean Boulevard.

Keep in mind that Pine Avenue will still be open to traffic for visitors to the Hyatt, waterfront restaurants, Shoreline Village and Shoreline Marina, according to city officials. Also, you can get to the Aquarium of the Pacific through either Chestnut Place or Golden Shore Avenue.

Tonight and throughout the rest of the week, valet parking will be available for people visiting waterfront restaurants and Shoreline Village, the city said. But all vehicles entering at Pine Avenue will exit to the east through the Marina Green parking lot.

FRIDAY, APRIL 11

  • 6 a.m. – Access to the Hyatt, Shoreline Village and the Shoreline Marina from Ocean Boulevard and Pine Avenue will close. Also, southbound Pine Avenue and the interior streets of The Pike, north of Shoreline Drive, will close to all traffic. You can get to the south side of the racetrack at the intersection of Ocean Boulevard and Alamitos Avenue but this will only be available to Grand Prix passholders and those with boat owner permits, according to the city.
  • 7 p.m. – Pine Avenue will open for traffic to access the Hyatt, Shoreline Village and Shoreline Marina tenants. When this happens, the Ocean Boulevard and Alamitos Avenue entry access route to Shoreline Village and marina tenants will close, city officials said.

SATURDAY, APRIL 12

  • 6 a.m. – Access to the Hyatt, Shoreline Village and the Shoreline Marina from Ocean Boulevard and Pine Avenue will close. Southbound Pine Avenue and the interior streets of The Pike, north of Shoreline Drive, will also close to all traffic. Once again, access to the south side of the track will be available at the intersection of Ocean Boulevard and Alamitos Avenue, but this will only be available to Grand Prix passholders and those with boat owner permits.
  • 7 p.m. – Pine Avenue will open for traffic to access the Hyatt, Shoreline Village and Shoreline Marina tenants. When this happens, the Ocean Boulevard and Alamitos Avenue entry access route to Shoreline Village and marina tenants will close.

SUNDAY, APRIL 13

  • 6 a.m. – Access to the Hyatt, Shoreline Village and the Shoreline Marina from Ocean Boulevard and Pine Avenue will close. Southbound Pine Avenue will also close to all traffic, as will the interior streets of The Pike, north of Shoreline Drive. Access to the south side of the track will be provided at the intersection of Ocean Boulevard and Alamitos Avenue and will only be available to Grand Prix passholders and those with boat owner permits.
  • 7 p.m. –  Pine Avenue will open for traffic to access the Hyatt, Shoreline Village and Shoreline Marina tenants, and the Ocean Boulevard and Alamitos Avenue entry access route will close.

MONDAY, APRIL 14

  • 5 p.m. – Traffic flow will be restored to: both east and westbound Shoreline Drive, the northbound Queensway Bridge off‐ramp, the southbound Queensway Bridge on‐ramp from Shoreline Drive, east and westbound Seaside Way, north and southbound Pine Avenue, including Pine Avenue Circle, north and southbound Shoreline Village Drive, and all service roads and internal streets of The Pike.

The Aquarium of the Pacific will remain open to visitors during Grand Prix weekend. You can find their operating hours on their website.

From Wednesday, April 9 at 3 p.m. to Thursday, April 10 at 3 p.m., access to the Aquarium parking structure will be via Chestnut Place to Shoreline Drive. All vehicles must exit the parking structure by 3 p.m. on Thursday.

Then from Saturday, April 12 to Monday, April 14, Aquarium visitor parking will be available at the Queen Mary parking lot for a fee. There will be free shuttles to the Aquarium, but the Aquarium parking structure will be closed.
