Police are investigating a drive-by shooting in Central Long Beach that left a man injured Tuesday night.

The man was in the 700 block of East 20th Street just before 9 p.m. when someone in a car shot him and then left the area, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Officers responded to the scene and found the victim with a gunshot wound to the lower body, police said.

He was taken by Long Beach Fire Department personnel to a local hospital for treatment, police said, adding that his injuries were not considered life-threatening and that he is in stable condition.

Police are still looking into a motive for the shooting, but believe at least two suspects are responsible.
