A man and his dog injured in Central Long Beach shooting
Police also arrested a juvenile boy who was seen firing a ghost gun in a separate incident Wednesday, according to LBPD.

A man and his dog were both shot while out for a walk in Central Long Beach Wednesday night, according to authorities.
Long Beach police responded to reports of a shooting near Rose Avenue and 14th Street around 11:15 p.m., the Long Beach Police Department said. There, Long Beach Fire Department personnel found a man who had been shot in the lower body and his dog which had been shot in the paw, according to the department.
The man was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while his dog was transported to a local pet clinic for its injury, which was also non-life-threatening, LBPD officials said.
According to police, an unknown vehicle pulled up to the man, at which point two men exited and fired at him and his dog. The men fled the scene before police arrived.
No details were released about the suspects or the vehicle.
An investigation into the motive and suspect information is ongoing, LBPD said.
Hours before, LBPD officers apprehended a boy who was seen by police firing shots toward two people in an alley near Anaheim Street and Dawson Avenue around 5:30 p.m. After a foot pursuit officers detained and arrested the juvenile, according to police.
Officers recovered a ghost gun and the suspect was transported to jail for booking, the department said. The investigation is ongoing.
