Two Long Beach juveniles have been arrested for allegedly vandalizing and breaking into six businesses around the city, police announced Friday.

Long Beach police say the boys, aged 12 and 13, worked with four other juvenile suspects to vandalize and break into businesses throughout the city last month, including CK Donuts in North Long Beach, a Pizza Hut in Bixby Knolls, two shops at the 2ND & PCH retail center, and Bliss Glass Gallery and Sweet Jill's Bakery in Belmont Shore.

In each of the incidents, the suspects allegedly shattered glass doors or windows of the businesses, according to the LBPD. In at least two incidents, the suspects also used a stolen vehicle for transportation, police added.

LBPD detectives identified the suspects, who have not been named because they're minors, after speaking with business owners, reviewing surveillance footage and canvassing for additional evidence related to the crimes, police said.

A 13-year-old boy was arrested at his home on May 12, according to authorities. Police booked him at Long Beach City Jail for commercial burglary, possession of a stolen vehicle and felony vandalism. He was then released because he is a juvenile, the department said.

The same day, LBPD detectives tried to arrest a 12-year-old boy, but he wasn't home, according to police. He later turned himself in and was subsequently booked for commercial burglary and possession of a stolen vehicle, police added. He was also released because of his age, according to authorities.

"These arrests should serve as a reminder that if you choose to engage in criminal activity in our city, you will be held accountable," LBPD Chief Wally Hebeish said in a statement.

The department will present the cases to the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for filing consideration, police said.

Police ask anyone with information about these incidents to call the LBPD Burglary Detail at 562-570-7351 or email LBPDBurglary@longbeach.gov.
