2 hurt in separate early-morning shootings, Long Beach police say
Both victims are expected to survive after being treated at local hospitals for their injuries, police said.
Police are investigating a pair of shootings in Long Beach that left two people injured early Thursday morning.
The first shooting happened just before 2 a.m. near Long Beachβs Washington neighborhood, authorities said.
A man was near the area of 14th Street and Pacific Avenue when an unknown suspect or suspects started shooting at him, police said.
Officers responded to the area and found the man with a gunshot wound to the lower body, but were unable to locate a crime scene, police said.
The man was taken to a local hospital where he was treated for his gunshot wound, which police said was not life-threatening.
About 40 minutes later, a man was driving near the area of Willow Street and East Avenue when he was shot in the upper body by someone in a car that had pulled up alongside him, police said.
The man then drove himself to a local hospital for treatment, police said, adding that his injuries were also not considered life-threatening.
Officers responding to the second shooting scene were again not able to locate a crime scene, police said.
