Police said they’re investigating the fatal shooting of two men in North Long Beach Wednesday night.

Police say they responded to the area of Compton Creek and the 710 freeway around 8:36 p.m. following reports of a dead body.

When officers arrived, they found two men with gunshot wounds to their upper bodies, according to the Long Beach Police Department.

Long Beach Fire Department personnel determined that both men had died at the scene, police said.

The men were apparently homeless, according to police. Their identities are being withheld while the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner works to notify their next of kin, according to authorities.
