2 dogs die in apartment fire, Long Beach authorities say

Fire crews responded just after 4:40 a.m. to an apartment in 700 block of Magnolia Avenue that had caught fire, according to the Long Beach Fire Department.

Two dogs died early Wednesday morning during a fire that broke out at an apartment in Long Beach’s Willmore neighborhood, fire officials said.

Fire crews responded just after 4:40 a.m. to an apartment in 700 block of Magnolia Avenue that had caught fire, according to the Long Beach Fire Department.

Two residents were helped out at the scene and did not need to be taken to a hospital, authorities said. Two dogs, however, were found dead inside the apartment, they added.

No firefighters were injured while putting out the fire, authorities said.

Investigators are now looking into the cause of the fire, authorities said.
