17-year-old shot near Cambodia Town, Long Beach police say
The teen, according to police, was in the 1000 block of Alamitos Avenue around 6:45 p.m. when he was shot in the lower body.
Long Beach police are investigating a shooting Wednesday evening near the city’s Cambodia Town neighborhood that left a 17-year-old hospitalized.
The teen, according to police, was in the 1000 block of Alamitos Avenue around 6:45 p.m. when he was shot in the lower body. The area is one block south of the Cambodia Town neighborhood.
Officers responded to the scene to investigate, police said.
The LBPD said their “preliminary investigation indicates that a male subject on foot approached a vehicle, and a shooting occurred.”
It’s unclear if the teen was targeted.
Long Beach Fire personnel took the 17-year-old to a local hospital for treatment, police said.
The teen’s wound was not considered life-threatening, according to the LBPD.
