1 killed, 1 wounded in suspected gang shooting, police say
The man killed in the shooting was identified as 32-year-old Long Beach resident Edgar Ortiz-Escamilla.

Police are investigating a deadly shooting that left one man dead and another hospitalized Sunday afternoon.
Officers were notified around 4:30 p.m. of a shooting in the 1700 block of Long Beach Boulevard, according to police.
When they arrived at the scene, officers learned two men had been shot and taken to a local hospital for treatment, the Long Beach Police Department said.
One of the men, identified as 32-year-old Long Beach resident Edgar Ortiz-Escamilla, died at the hospital from his injuries, the LBPD said. The other man is in stable condition, they added.
Itβs unclear who shot the men or why. Officers, according to the department, found evidence at the scene and detectives suspect the shooting motive may be gang-related.
A gang-related crime is one committed for the benefit of, at the direction of or in association with any criminal street gang, according to the LBPD.
Police ask anyone who may have more information on the shooting to contact detectives at 562-570-7244.
