1 dead in crash between motorcycles in North Long Beach, police say
Police say the collision caused one motorcyclist to crash into a parked car.
A motorcyclist died Thursday night after being involved in a collision with another motorcyclist and a parked car in North Long Beach, according to police.
Long Beach Police say the motorcyclists were traveling side by side and going eastbound on Artesia Boulevard, near Long Beach Boulevard, shortly before midnight when they collided.
The impact then caused one of the motorcyclists to crash into a parked car, police said.
Officers rushed to the scene where they found both motorcyclists in the roadway and rendered aid to them, police said.
The motorcyclist who crashed into the car died at the scene, while the other was taken to a local hospital for treatment, police said.
The identity of the man who died was not released as the Los Angeles Medical Examiner’s office works to notify their family.
Detectives are investigating what caused the motorcyclists to collide. At this time, police say they don’t believe speed, distracted driving or impaired driving were factors in the crash.
Police ask anyone with more information to contact detectives at 562-570-7355.
